Martian rover mission from the NASA exploration program that includes the Perseverance rover launched from KSC to land in Jezero Crater on Mars on February 18, 2021. - Jezero Crater Landing Site, chosen in cooperation with the ESA from images from the European Mars Express Mars 2020 probe - Perseverance will study an astrobiologically ancient environment on Mars and its surface geological processes and history, including the assessment of its past habitability, the possibility of life on Mars and the potential for preserving biosignatures.

It will cache sample containers along its route for a potential future sample return mission. It also carries a helicopter drone - INGENIUTY - intended to prepare the movements of the Martian Rover - a great first of Nasa exploration.
