EUROPEAN SERVICE MODULE
The service module includes all equipment that is not essential for return to Earth. It contains the main propulsion and associated propellant tanks and consumables (water, oxygen, nitrogen) used by the crew. The solar panels that produce the electrical energy of the vessel as well as the radiators that ensure the removal of excess heat are also housed in the service module.
